As you near the top of the hill coming up you go around a left hand corner into a long straight (there's an old ventilation shaft heading into the hill on the corner). Continue up the straight for about 100m and there's a road heading back up to the right through a locked gate (put there to stop cars being pushed over the cliff at the top), there's a bit of a parking area here for those doing a shuttle run.
Go right, passed the gate and up the steepness, past the mud flats and up a bit more then take the left hand fork off the main road. Ride a hundred or so meters more and you'll see the Channel 6 track heading in on the right.

About another 20m or so and you'll see the start of the Down Hill track MR348 886 (Hartley map).
It all starts innocently enough down a rough track. Rip down through the corners, railing off small berms. Soon the track disappears over a 1m drop, launch too far to the right and you'll be in the scrub so hit it fairly close to the center.

Next up is a rock garden, basketball sized lumps of fixed sandstone, down through a small left-hander. Solid gum trees keep you honest. There looks to be a smooth path out to the right around the tree, but if you take this you'll be wide and low and hopelessly off track. I find it easiest to go wide right and swing into it.

Now you've got a fast section of relatively smooth track down though a damp gully then you're into the "Bumble Bee" section. Steep, narrow drops peppered with tree routes. Get into trouble here and you could find yourself tumbling a long way down the steep hill on the side of the track.
Get though the Bumble bee and soon you'll find yourself face to face with what many regard as the hardest section of the track. Two tight switchbacks called the "Thunders".
First up is the "Little Thunder".

Despite being the smaller of the two, it is tight and steep and brings many people unstuck. The "Big Thunder" follows soon after, the top corner is just as tight as that on it's little brother but you then have more room to set yourself up for the sweeping exit.

From here the track is fairly tame, allowing you to get off the brakes a bit down a little bit of steepness. Hard back on the brakes as you negotiate some tight turns though trees and rocks (You don't want to hit the rock on the right, it's solid!). A small climb slows things up a bit and reminds you that you have legs. There’s a bit of a jump out of a small dip and then a bit of a flat ending in a small log drop. This leads into a big sweeping right-hander.

Halfway round look for a track heading off left into the pine trees.
The right-hander is taken during races, down into the riffle range behind the ADI factory, but is only open on race days. Left swings down a flowing line through the pine trees and brings you out near the old Jack and Jill pre-school.
