This ride starts at the Zig Zag railway at Clarence. You can catch a train from Sydney and ride out from either Mt Vic or Bell (I think you have to ask to get the train to stop for Bell) or you can ride up from Lithgow (Hauling you bike up through the waterworks dams might be the easiest opt) or you can get someone to drop you off.

Navigational skills are a must with this one if you don't have someone to guide you so take care.
Start at the Zig Zag Railway car park, follow the dirt road which heads out on the Newnes Plateau (Old Bells line of road- Newnes Forest Road) towards the Bungleborri picnic area. After about 1.5-2km you should see some old cement dams in a fenced off area on the left, go past these and take the second road on the left (MR 425 950). This runs at an angle to the main rd, down a little hill and up the other side.

At the top of the hill this side road rejoins the main road, turn off to the left again. Follow this down and the double track degenerate into single track at about (MR 424 954) soon becomes a nice following single track that will lead you down to the motocross track. When that bit of ST opens back out you will see the motocross grounds up to the left. Head up beside the moto track keeping the track on you right. At (MR 416 961) you will see a rough road going up to the left of a bit of single track. Follow the road. There is a bermed corner at the top of this little hill and you will see an obvious single track going in on the right, avoid that single track and look for a more obscured one near the apex of the corner (The start hidden by fallen trees) (MR415 961)

This is another fun bit of single track that starts a bit sandy but gets steeper and rocky, watch the two big ruts halfway down. Follow this around the back of the moto track, it crosses a fire road and heads back in on the other side. Work your way around the single track and it eventually heads down towards the back of the swamp and opens back out onto fire road. Look for a steep pinch heading up to the left (Note: sometimes this crossing is bone dry, sometimes it's about a foot deep in the middle). Follow the road up and around to the left and you will eventually meet back up with the main rd. Follow the main road until it divides and then get onto the road to the left and follow the pwer lines up the hill.

Keep going until just before this road meets up with the Glowworm Tunnel rd and look for an old road up to the left. Go up and take the left option for more single track. Follow this fun bit of ST all the way to its end (it crosses a couple of old roads and is a bit chopped up in places). At the end of this ST you come out on to a narrow fire road (MR 385 953) go right and follow this narrow rd up to a larger fire rd (MR 382 952) and go right again. This road goes up a bit of a hill before coming out on the Glowworm Tunnel rd right at the top of the Drift hill. Turn left to get back to town.
