This is a sweet track offering something for everyone.
It has some fast flowing sections without anything overly difficult to bring
you unstuck, besides the odd bit of steepness.
Turn left at the top of the hill and follow the road across the ridge. Take
the Left turn towards Bracey's lookout (signposted), follow the road out and
turn right just before it goes back onto tar (just before it descends to the
lookout) MR 365 902.This is where the fun begins. Ride the rough road all the
way to its end where the single track head off to the left.
At the first fork you'll want to stay on the high side, right, to get over a
bit of a rock ledge and whack it back a couple of gear to get over the steep
little pinch. Soon come to another fork. Left joins up with the High School
track (not much chop) but can also be taken as a detour around the small bit
of steepness on the right fork (you'll need to keep an eye out for a faint right
turn just around the rock).
The right hand fork is steep and slippery but not overly difficult. The trouble
is that it rejoins the take at almost 90* and this combined with the steepness
can bring you unstuck. A bit further along there is another fork. Go right!
This avoids the horror rocks but does contain another patch of steepness. Advanced
riders may wish to have a look at the left hand option. It is rideable. The
first drop can be rolled down by heading straight down the nose, or dropped
if you're game. The next to are fun little drops but it's easy to get out of
shape and things can get ugly.
From here out it's plain sailing. The track comes out at the top of High Street.
Coast to the bottom of the hill and turn left into Mort Street to get back into
town.
